2007 Iceman Cometh
Challenge Bike Race
November 10, 2007

• What:
  The 18th Annual Iceman Cometh Challenge is a 27-mile, point-to-point mountain bike race. Registration for the event is limited to the first 2,000 entries received.
  The 13th Annual Slush Cup is a half-frozen version of the Iceman. This event offers beginner and recreational riders the chance to test their skill on an eight-mile course. Fun for everyone who wants to enjoy the outdoors! Pre-registration is required.
  The 5th Annual Sno-Cone; there are no limits on participants age 2 to 12 on this trail event! FREE to all young riders. Every young cyclist will receive a medal and a cool gift! Pre-registration is SUGGESTED, not required.
• When:
  The Iceman will be held on Saturday, November 10, 2007 come rain, sleet, snow or shine! The event has been conducted in snow for six of the past 15 years. Starting time 9:30 a.m. at Kalkaska Middle School in Kalkaska, Michigan for the Iceman Cometh Challenge, and 9:30 a.m. at Timber Ridge Campground - the Iceman Finish Line, for the Slush Cup.
• Where: Starting in the village of Kalkaska, Michigan, the Iceman trail consists of paved roads, dirt roads, two tracks, abandoned railroad beds, and the world-famous Vasa Nordic Ski Trail. The finish line comes 27 miles later just outside of Traverse City at Timber Ridge Campground and Nordic Center.
• Who: 2,000 amateur and professional mountain bike racers from across the United States and Canada, spectators and sports media will attend.
• Prizes: More than $23,200 total in cash; more than $10,000 total in merchandise is awarded.
